2019 WWII Veterans Dinner & Remembrance Day

2019 WWII Veterans Dinner & Remembrance Day

On December 8th at 2:00 pm we gathered to honor all World War II veterans. A Delicious dinner was served by The Crowded Kitchen, 1940s music was provided by the Napavine High School Jazz, and a special presentation was made to two WWII veterans by Quilts of Valor.

Our Guest Speaker, Seaman First Class Lester Dingee, was a teenage Navy Seabee who fought on the island of Guam. Mr. Dingee couldn’t attend so his daughter, Jackie Smith, shared his photos and stories from the three week battle to recapture the island.

A special time of remembrance gave families and friends an opportunity to light a candle in honor of those WWII veterans who have passed on.
