Volunteer Appreciation Dinner

Saturday evening, December 3rd, about 30 of us gathered in Centralia at O’Blarney’s Irish Pub for our Volunteer Appreciation Dinner.
We ordered from the menu and the food and service was excellent. Our food arrived fast, hot and delicious. Master of ceremonies, Director Chip Duncan, welcomed everyone and hosted a really fun evening. Chip created a Museum Trivia Contest testing our volunteers knowledge of museum facts. Each person competed with the person across the table, were handed a grenade to hit the helmet with, indicating they knew the answer. I was impressed with how much our volunteers knew of the history and facts concerning the museum. However, note the following pictures as some attempted the answer:
After the spirited trivia competition, Chip presented “The Legacy Award”. This award is given to a member who generously gives time, energy and often personal funds to our museum that will have a lasting effect. Ron Edwards was this years recipient for his leadership and talent working with our motor pool volunteers. Ron’s work and efforts to coordinate the restoration and repair of many of our vehicles will last for years. Thank you Ron! At the conclusion of our dinner, we trekked just a few blocks to our hosts, The Evergreen Playhouse, for a presentation of “Its A Wonderful Life”. What a great evening, great fun, and a great museum!!!!
